Entry Guidelines & Application
- Each birdhouse design must be the product of the child/children entering. Minimal parent assistance for construction is understood.
- The base of the birdhouse can be no larger than 18” by 18” with no required minimum.
- Birdhouses must be bird friendly and potentially usable.
- Designs should have a historic link. Think about a historic link based on a historic building or structure within the town of Garner or a historic event specific to Garner, NC.
- Creativity is highly encouraged.
- Materials can be natural or manmade.We encourage the use of recycled materials.
- Birdhouse entry forms can be submitted in person or mailed to arrive July 9th to the Garner History Museum. (Open Weds and Sat 2:00-4:00) 106- Pearl St. Garner, NC
- Birdhouse must be delivered to the Garner Recreation Center during the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 pm on Friday, July 25th.(Unless arranged earlier)
- Winners will be announced on Saturday, July 26th at 1:00 pm at the Downtown Bird Bash
- Winners will be displayed in town businesses.
A panel of 3 independent judges will score each birdhouse based on creativity, usability, and historic representation. Judges decisions are final and will determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners. Winners will receive ribbons and cash prizes.
